Finding Solitude In Silence

From the moment we wake until the moment we fall asleep we are constantly bombarded with external & internal noise. This can make it difficult to silence the mind & just be still.

Learning to focus on and embrace the power of silence can help us to improve our mental health, mental clarity, creativity,  reduce stress & increase self awareness.

Silence isn’t just about being away from noise or stimulation though, it’s about giving yourself time each day to stop & think, breathe & bring yourself to center & focusing on the present moment.

Practicing silence gives us moments to relax, recharge & reconnect with ourselves. There are several ways you can create these quiet time rituals! Don’t be afraid to explore & find what works best for you!

Some ideas…..

  • Before your day begins, take a few deep breaths in silence & set your intentions for the day. Really focus and feel how you imagine your day unfolding.

  • Embrace the silence of nature, go for a walk through a local forest or grab some hiking gear & make it a day of it, that’s one of my personal favorite ways to practice solitude.

  • Grab your favorite book & find a quiet spot, make a cup of tea & enjoy. No distractions!

  • At the end of your day practice self reflection, start a gratitude journal & write the things you are thankful for each day. Set a space where you can go & reflect. Diffuse some essential oils like Lavender & Frankincense for a deeper spiritual connection.

  • Incorporate some restorative stretching or yoga to your day, before bed is a great time - even if it’s for just 10 minutes.

  • Grab some Allpine Calm Salve & breathe deep to help relax your nervous system & instantly bring you to a place of peace!

  • Pray! If you are spiritual like me, time in silence talking to God brings such calm & comfort.

I hope that you take a few moments each day to practice solitude & silence & build a deeper love & connection with yourself.

In health & harmony ~ Shannon

DEEP SILENCE IS THE MOTHER OF CREATIVITY

No creativity can come out of one who is too busy, worried, over ambitious or lethargic.
